Peter also resurrected a song penned by Rick Rider called “Inspection” As I recall, cabin inspections were somewhat less draconian than those in the Army, but as the lyrics suggest, were treated with great “respect” by all campers. Here’s the hand written version and then the lyrics typed out:
The Inspection Song (To the Battle Hymn of the Republic)
From the dirty grime & dusty shelves
To the floors & trunks so clean.
We will mop & dust & sweep the place
And will hear
George Walker our counselor scream,
First we’ll fight to win the Honor
Then to keep our cabin clean.
We will proudly bribe the management
So we can get more ice cream.
